This website collects personal data in one place only: the enquiry form. This page explains what is collected, why, how long it is kept and how to contact us about it.

Data collected

Through the enquiry form: full name, company, country, job title, email address, telephone number, sector, nature of the need, preferred timing and message. You provide this information voluntarily.

Technically we also keep the date of submission, the language of the form, the browser used and a truncated version of the IP address: the last block is replaced by a zero, so the full address is never recorded. This is used solely to limit automated submissions.

Purposes

To answer your enquiry and, where appropriate, prepare a commercial proposal.
To follow the file through to its conclusion.
To protect the form against automated submissions.

Your data is used for no other purpose. We do not add you to any mailing list unless you ask us to.

Legal basis

Your consent, given through the tick box on the form, and our legitimate interest in answering a commercial enquiry addressed to us.

Recipients

The data is accessible only to those people at GK General Merchant who handle enquiries, through a password-protected administration area. It is never sold, rented or passed to third parties for commercial purposes.

It is held with our hosting provider and passes through the mail server of the gk-generalmerchant.com domain.

Retention period

Three years from the last exchange, unless the relationship becomes contractual: the data is then kept for the term of the contract and for the statutory retention period applicable to commercial records.

Cookies

This site uses no advertising cookie and no third-party analytics tool. Two strictly necessary cookies may be set: the PHP session cookie, required to protect the form, and a cookie remembering the chosen language. No consent banner is therefore needed.

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts; no other third-party resource is called.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete the data concerning you, or withdraw your consent, by writing to info@gk-generalmerchant.com quoting your enquiry number. We reply within a reasonable time, and in any event within thirty days.

Confidentiality of client files

Separately from this policy, the information you entrust to us in the course of an assignment is covered by our charter: it is confidential, and a confidentiality agreement can be signed at your request before any sensitive exchange.
