01 — Market research

Know before you commit

Market research exists to answer a decision, not to produce a document. So we start from your questions — “is there a market for this product here?”, “at what price?”, “through which channel?” — and answer them with field surveys, interviews and sources you can check.

Duration : 3 to 6 weeks · two formats Method : The standard report plan

Quality

Our quality rules

  • Every figure cites its source and its date; estimates are presented as such, with the method used.
  • At least 8 field interviews for an Essential study, 15 for an In-depth one.
  • Price surveys in at least three types of outlet — modern, traditional, online — with dated photographs.
  • Internal review before delivery, then a spoken debrief in every case.
  • The study belongs to you. With your agreement we may mention that it exists — sector and country — never its content.

Typical situation

A European soft-drinks manufacturer wants to know whether its family-size format has a market in Abidjan, and at what retail price. In four weeks we record competitor prices in modern retail, neighbourhood shops and online platforms, interview eight wholesalers and two importers, check the labelling rules that apply, then recommend — or advise against — a format, a price and an entry channel.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

In which language is the report written?
French or English, as you prefer, stated in the contract. The spoken debrief is held in the same language.
What happens if the conclusion is “no-go”?
It is delivered as it stands, with the reasoning. A study that concludes against entry has saved you a failed launch: that is a result, not a failure.
Do you sign a confidentiality agreement?
Yes, on request and before any sensitive information is exchanged. The study and its data belong to you.
Can you cover several countries at once?
Yes for the countries where we operate — Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria — and across the WAEMU area in support. Scope and schedule are adjusted accordingly.
